Where have all the loads gone? I am from the south. In my area there maybe 5 loads posted in a weeks time. The loads are taken seconds after they are posted. The rates are dirt cheap. If you haul a load you maybe sitting a couple of days looking for something to haul out. More than likely u may have to deadhead 300 miles to get another dirt cheap load. We need to pull together and stop excepting these work conditions. I am looking for your input.

Parked the hopper, hooked up to my dry van. Rates and times are much better there. I only run the hopper when my regular customers call me. Good Luck

How do you go by booking van loads. You find them yourself or do you use brokers. I am green to the van loads and need some insight.

I use Internet Truckstop for my vans. I haul both broker and shipper direct loads, whoever pays the best. I will let you know that it will most likely be cheap in your area with vans as well. It is that time of year when the rates fall off, but the vans at least wise keep moving instead of sitting and wasting fuel idling. I also parked three of my trucks as well and am only running my personal one until spring. I got tired of hearing the drivers complain about not making enough money during Jan - Mar. Good Luck
