Using Blue silicone heater hose

I am seeing MANY people having trouble with the Blue silicone heater hose. The problem is that it is the best hose, but most parts guys don't make sure that you are using the right clamps with the hose. If you use an old style clamp you will quickly ruin your investment. Also when you use the old style clamp you don't when or when it will let you down. You need a clamp that has an interior that keeps the serations from coming in contact with the hose. The more expensive clamp is called a wave clamp these protect the hose the best, but can be difficult to use and can be hard to get enough clamping force in all scenarios. We had a hose pop on a thermo king APU. The driver didn't realize what was up and it cost me a $3500 CAT head. I now strongly recommend a low water sensor. I recently did a complete rehose on my 379 pete. Parts were $400 plus dollars for hose, clamps and covering. Use the right clamps the first time.
