Hey, I'm currently using QuickBooks and it's fine for our accounting and payroll, but I think it's time to upgrade to something industry specific. Recommendations? THANKS!!!! |

I have used most all trucking software and still end up going back to Quickbooks. But if you are determined to use another, then ITS truckstop is the best that I have found. Quickbooks has advanced enough that you can set it up easier for trucking so I always end up going back. If you know someone that knows quickbooks well enough, they can set it up for you to do all payroll, maintenance and billing from the invoice screen.

I've got it set up beyond that point already, but tracking for IFTA, etc. is a pain in the butt. I don't want to be redundant in my postings. How are you tracking your ifta miles?

Guys turn in there IFTA every week, but with their Fuel Cards, they are required to put in their Odometer readings and that gives me actual state miles in a report at the end of the quarter. I also have the GPS tracking on the trucks, that comes on really handy on actual state miles too. Costs about 20 per month on each truck.

Trucking office is great for IFTA, IRP and invoice. Not so hot for payroll, but it will track driver percentage nicely.

I use Quickbooks Pro 2013 which has Trucking already in it, but I have set it up so I can use it the way I want it for various billing and can format my own type of invoice. The mileage and IFTA reporting is done with Prophesy and it is built to interline with Quickbooks so you can track your maintenence and parts better. We also do Truck and Trailer service for other people which helps on the overhead of our shop and equipment and the Quickbooks Pro works very well.
