Fertilizer rates pay by the ton usually and in my experience pays the same as hauling grain. Just figure how much weight you can haul and how much per mile you want from that. Fertilizer is heavy so fitting into a trailer is usually not a problem. Only time we were ever close to being full is when we had a 66" sided trailer with a pusher on the truck and triple spread on the trailer. Trailer was only a 48' and the product was urea. Got it all on but it was pretty full.

Thanks for advice I have hauled it in my 43x72x96 wilson and I get 25 ton very easy and I was thinking over 2.00 per mile maybe I am dreaming lol...

Probably dreaming. Local stuff like that has been getting under cut so bad lately. Too many hoppers with nothing better to do. Trucking season for farmers right now so more competition. Guys are hauling stuff here for $1.50 a loaded mile for 85 mile run and bouncing back empty. Don't know how that would make anybody money but it doesn't for me. Luckily I have a slipped disc in my back so I will be parked for 6-12 weeks with no choice. Hoping for surgery this week. Maybe when I am better the rates will be a little better again.

That is kind of what I am thinking. The guys doing it have run down trucks and equipment. A truck will only run so long if you don't put money into it. Once they get to pay for their $20,000 overhaul or big breakdown they will learn.

Too many new bottom feeder brokers cut fertilizer rates down to nothing . Not many worth hauling anymore.

Those Fran sand trucks are starting to get repo'ed rates may start to come back up after all the fancy trucks get taken back by Paccar.
