I have 2 newer Timpte high sides we bought last fall with disc brakes and we like them a lot. Every trailer I buy from this point on will have disc brakes. Our trucks also have disc brakes and the combo together is excellent braking capabilities and very smooth to stop. It is worth the extra money and you will make it back on the weight savings in the long run.

Just curious, what are the weight savings?

If I remember correctly, about 400 pounds total. I also put on super singles and aluminum sub frame, in total I saved about 1000#. I got my high side trailer down to the same weight as an older low side grain trailer. 43x102x84 weighs just under 9000# empty.

Call TIMPTE in aroura ne and ask for Travis. I have a brand newe TIMPTE I was gonna get disk brakes. But when compared disk to light weight hubs and drums. It was the same weight. And I think it was 2k cheaper with drums. But I have a new peterbilt with disk brakes and it's nice so far.
