With the flooding that is occurring in Louisiana, do any of you think that any other nations will render aide either financially or physically? Will they send over food, or manpower? I doubt that any other nation sends one penny or lifts one finger in aide, so answer this one for me why do we send Billions upon Billions to other nations in money, food, manpower, and finally supposed military protection. I have always thought we should keep our dollars here at home. What do you think?

The current candidates for President both lack greatly and show us that the masses only want either somebody to give them everything for free, or that we are all so pissed off that we want nobody else to have anything at all. That being said and done for those of you that can vote you must make the choice as to what will be the best for our nation as a whole. I personally feel that we need to withdraw from trying to be the worlds police force and concentrate on our own nation for a while. Wasting money, energy, troops, and other resources in areas of the world that are no concern or business of our tax dollars. If churches and other charitable organizations want to help other nations so be it. Our tax dollars should remain at home where they belong. I would rather see us fix our roads, educate those in the inner city as to ownership and responsibility for becoming business owners. Giving our teachers, fire fighters, police officers, and military raises. (Congress and the rest need to take a pay cut for the shitty job they have done. They actually should have to pay us back for their massive failures at running the gooberment,) Reducing taxes overall and encouraging growth within, tax the shit on companies that have moved jobs out of our borders. It is time for the old companies like GM to die and new ones like Tesla to rise up and take their place. We need to quit giving subsidies to farmers, those on welfare that can work, pet projects that only benefit an extreme group of whiners that do not contribute back into our society. For those that can work they should work. If you don;t work then you don;t eat, it is amazing how an individual will get creative when they are hungry. Your absolutely correct on the lack of forest management- the tree huggers have that blocked down here so they can't go in and log or do much for proper management. I have a close friend out west in the lumber industry and he told me that in the good ole days when a fire started the loggers would do whatever it took to get it out and would get it under control FAST because their livelyhood was at stake. Now, they aren't "qualified" and we have a bunch of guys that go get their card and get payed by the hour to do fight fires and milk it for all its worth.

Your absolutely correct on the lack of forest management- the tree huggers have that blocked down here so they can't go in and log or do much for proper management. I know our country has been giving aid and aide to others when we should not have been. We have no reason to be involved in others problems when we first should take care of our own. Troy, Faux calls their talk radio programs news. I don't.

I got tired of hearing mean spirited, nasty, personal opinionated propaganda talk radio being passed off as news. When I hear the news I want clear truthful info so I can make my own decision on any matter.

When Paul Harvey went off the air I turned it off. I won't listen to either side whine about the other.

However, I do like the low necklines and short dresses all the Faux women wear on TV.

FWIW-- According to Reuters and BBC News there are at least 4 European nations with volunteers in Louisiana with money and supplies.

I'll be at a meeting about halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans tomorrow so I'll make a first hand observation and report back on it ASAP.

The building that we could build would be 1000 SF bigger than theirs and be done two months sooner. I could build this building for $125,000.00, imagine my surprise when they said no, they were flabergasted that I had gotten the permits far cheaper because I had put down that I was building a school, and was willing to pay a local official $15,000 to make it all work. I tried to explain that this was how things worked there. They have no understanding how things really work, so we did not build the building, and they spent six months and $275,000.00 doing it their way. Looky there they could have built two buildings for the price of one, I have found that when politicians and preachers are involved in redistriibuting the monies that they were entrusted with that somehow they often times fail. I have always wondered exactly where that extra $150,000.00 went. I am pretty sure I know but without the exact proof I will refrain from saying so. Those that need the aid often times will receive very little of it in the end.

I refuse to rail on my brothers and sisters in Canada just because you seem to hate us. My cousin and others have told me that your are very pretentious, they have told me that they have had bad dealings with you in the past. Now I have tried to keep this civil between the two of us, but over the past couple of weeks you continue to pick at scabs that have long since healed over. I refuse to sling mud at our allies to the North as well as the South, each of our nations have our own problems and we need to individually focus on fixing them. I am sorry that your country got the raw deal on a trade agreement but we all know how ours has gotten the same raw deal on grain trade from your country to ours. I have been out meeting with farmers, truckers, mills and I keep hearing the same stories, maybe these stories are propraganda who knows? When you hear the same stories time and time again you either A: Believe them to be true or B: Stick your head in the sand in disbelief. I am going to challenge you personally Nancy to put your money where your mouth is or at least your keyboard skills. How about this instead or railing and spitting venom at our country, why don't you and your company quit selling your products to our country? Just keep your precious resources us there in Canada where you feel the belong. We don't really need them down here, like Josh Buster pointed out we have more then enough trees to support ourselves if we could just get the dope smokers to realize that harvesting trees in a controlled environment is good for the enviornment. Take on this challenge and let us see where you and your company are sitting in one year without any trade with the greedy old USA. The only people on this earth that I fear work for the IRS past that here I am have at it, but in todays world where everyone wants to be equal and wants a participation trophy. I hold little back when it comes to gender. My neighborhood is over run all winter by snowbirds from north of the border. They show up do everything in their power to change my neighborhood to suit their needs for the few months that they are here, but I have to live here all year long.
