Just had a truck there that left at 1am this morning. He was there for 27 hours. Our rate on the detention is a little better than .25/hour but still lose a whole day there.

Worst part about it is that I loaded a second truck to go there before I knew there was a problem.

Sometimes they change the posted towns to neer locations because you get familiar with real locations

It has been that way for as long as I can remember there Harold.

Add another $750.00- $1000.00 to your normal rate for normal locations and then you are covered.

That is what most of us do at those locations that think our time is for free. Make them Pre-Pay for the time.

I know the shipper and broker will squawk but who cares, if they don't like then they need to put it on their own trucks.

I sat there 48 hours waiting to unload. The guy that weighed me in laughed and said you will be here at least 24 hours. He even said the place was a dump.Receiver said the higher ups had a meeting over the wait time... Basically came back and said we were all just screwed. Supposedly they pay $25/hr wait time unless of course it gets to be to much... Then they want a daily rate. I'm still waiting on that pay from right before Xmas. Highly recommend staying away!

This is why I switched too tankers, this very rarely happens in tanking and when it does, we get paid full detention and a layover rate and then right back on dmrg the next day.

What kind of tanks are you pulling? Are you home everyday? Are you leased on to someone?

I started tanker pulling mostly ISO tanks, then got offered a dedicated run pulling propane trailers. I'm not home everyday, but weekend and couple times during the week.
