What are you going to be hauling primarily? Timpte and Wilson both very good trailers. Im a little more partial to Wilsons but both are very good. If your gonna be hauling lighter commodities (oats, sunflowers, etc) get the taller one. Wheat, corn, beans, get the shorter one as you should get better mileage with the shorter one if you dont need the height.

Is 2 feet in length mean that much? Just asking because I don't know.

Yes it is huge, the 78x102x43 is 2210 cubic feet, you loose from 500 to 700 cubic feet with the smaller trailers. Your talking two to four ton and at the year end that is huge on ever load

On $20 a ton product, two ton, one load a day x 5 days is $200 a week x 4 weeks is your total cost of the trailer $800 a month look hard at the bigger trailers!!

Ok it make sense! I guess I was thinking that 2 foot of trailer length would be that much. I know I need the height. But I thought the slope in the hopper would not be the might bigger in a foot per hopper. Thanks again for your input.

Part of the cubic feet is the big doors, 54x35, and low hanging, not ag hoppers, this gives steeper slopes and more cubic feet. The product comes out easier with the steep slopes and adds a hug amount of cubic space. I have had three of these Timptes and would order another on with all the light weight options, fifth wheel, frame, wheels all alum, gives me twenty six plus tons

Don't buy ANYTHING other than a 78 Inch side trailer... at the least.. It will give you the BEST versatility other than having one with 84 Inch sides which Is what I have... The problem comes into play with the smaller trailer when you wish to haul Wheat midds, rice hulls, Rice mill feed.. you need the bigger trailer to even get close to a full payload... I had a 78 inch side trailer and could only manage to get around 23 Tons at best with rice mill feed and wheat midds and that was me packing it down several times and the product running out of the trailer... I have a 84 Inch side now and wouldn't trade if for anything.. Buy the 78... you won't regret it..

If your shopping find one with aluminum 5th Wheel plate and sub frame. Gains a bunch of payload capacity. 78" sides a good all round height. The bigger the doors the better also. A 96" wide is 700 lbs lighter than a 102.

Go with the Timpte because of the BIG DOORS, they are great. If you are hauling wheat midds, cottonseed or anything light, you will not et 25 ton with the 78" side. 84" side at a minimum is needed.

43x102x72 if hauling corn, beans, SBM, fertilizer, calcium, and such. If hauling anything light, Midds, hulls, screenings, etc I would go minimum of 43x102x78 all with big traps of course. .02 paid
