So today Biden gave a big speech about how he is fixing the supply chain, but he failed to explain the most important detail, that is where the labor force will magically come from? Interestingly he never talked about his big vaccine mandate at the ports? Hymmm

Is this same speech he blamed the disruption of the supply chain on the infrastructure in order to push the "bill"?

The answer these egg heads have for everything is more control and less emmisions! How about they step back and let the people work?

They don't get it. They are the problem, who would want to go to the west coast, fuel is approaching $5 a gallon they won't let the older trucks run their roads, and they push to tighten down on the trucking industry every way they can

Agree with James. What happens when carriers over 100 employees mandate the vax? I think this mandate will be a game changer. Not smart or good. Art Pfluger

I understand. But I'm not so sure I wouldn't rather have a young man that WANTS to truck and grew up around trucking on the road than some of the people out here now.

It used to be 18 and I was 18 when I got my CDL and they just gave me my hazmat! I've been driving over 40 years and I've never hurt anyone! I would rather hire 18 year old drivers and train them than to bring in some of foreigners that hate this country!!!

In Texas you can still get Class A CDL Intrastate at 18, getting them insured might be cost prohibited.

The scariest thing to me is how many people think biden and company are great. Republicans might have won some of the recent elections but wasn't a decisive thing in my opinion. Biden lied and lives were lost. How many remember. Most only remember the last sound bite. Where are the people that can win in 2022 or 2024? Trump might have done good things but I don't think he is electable. Just an opinion. Art Pfluger

One thing we all need to realize is that this didn't just start in Jan, this has been coming for awhile. The pandemic exposed all of our faults as soon as it started. We have had supply chain issues way before the present adminstration got in there. We all need to try to work together to fix our country's problems. We need someone from the government to listen to the people in the supply chain for some reasonable, real actions to help work on the issues.

I don’t think Biden really cares about the supply chain, he was just using the issue to push his infrastructure bill, a taxpayer give away for the ports that are owned by China. The ATA says the industry is short 80,000 drivers, well 72,000 of them were swept up in the clearinghouse that the ATA lobbied for, so if Biden wanted to do something meaningful for the supply chain he would vote for the MORE ACT, and you would suddenly have all those drivers back, his own party has been pushing for this, but he said he will never do it. Personally I don’t think he really cares about the supply chain, he was just using the crisis to promote his infrastructure bill, a taxpayer give away to the ports that are owned by China.

Sure seems to me there are quite a few other ports on the west coast. Saw some video of the first container vessels to go thru the canal to the east coast.

And why do they not try to use LCV's to help iwth the freight backup. Let the multi axle rigs help make up for the shortage. Less trucks on the road, less traffic.

He's talking about shutting down another pipeline. That should help him reach his goal.

Yep he's got to push that green energy through, did you see in the 1.2 trillion dollar joke that one of the studies is on testing TRUCK emissions at US ports.
