Additionally they will keep records of anyone who does wash out on that site (when/where/who) in case contamination is reported so they can trace back and notify people.

A "certified" wash out is one who has filed with the city/state/county or whomever the local governing authority is that the owner certifies they will not knowingly washout any hazardous materials on the same site as tankers, hoppers, ect. Additionally they will keep records of anyone who does wash out on that site (when/where/who) in case contamination is reported so they can trace back and notify people.

As a shipper that's all I've ever known a "certified" to mean, and that's all I've ever needed for a customer location requesting one. Has anyone encountered something different?

I seem to remember most of them drying up and blowing away down in Nebraska, when all that was going on.

Yes a trailer washout is different and is a few facilitites who performed those washouts, our facility only provides tanker Food grade washouts, I apologize for all the info putting on here, lol.

I remember going to a place that washed out cattle pots down in Freemont back then, so I could get a washout to go load material for a precast plant, and all the bull haulers were telling me that there were only six washout locations left in the entire state of Nebraska because of Obama, but at one time there were dozens.

I've got a simple solution for a certified tank wash that I'm willing to share with all my BulkLoads brothers and sisters for free. Yes, free but lets keep this a secret.

Step 1: Go to your local office supply store and order a packet of reciepts printed with your wife or kids name. Example: Karen's Truck and trailer Wash"

Step 2: Order a self inking stamp that reads "Certified Trailer Washout"

Step 3: Park the trailer next to your barn, get out the water hose and wash the trailer. Or have your kids do it.

Step 4 : Issue yourself a reciept for the wash and stamp the reciept "Certified Trailer Washout"

Step 5: Keep extra reciepts in your glove box and date them as necessary.

Step 6: Keep all reciepts for tax purposes

As an added bonus, Order an additional stamp that reads: "Livestock Feed HOS Exempt due to Corona Virus" Stamp every bill of lading except fertilizer. They may figure that one out...

Not to say that there aren't good ones, but I have washed out at more than a handful of locations that tried to leave me with a dirty trailer. Donovan, I've seen tons of guys get mad at me because there was still product in the trailer. And yes i can do a very good job with a garden hose (one that links constantly) and a spray nozzle. I've found some really really good ones and keep them to myself. One guy sterilizes the trailer before he waxes the inside, this was 2 weeks ago. I washed out yesterday and nothing stuck anywhere still. Water beads up.
