you'll lose a little bit of fuel mileage. when I switch from timpte to cornhusker I noticed the mileage loss on windy days the most. otherwise I would never buy anything other than a husker

My cornhusker pulls quite a bit easier than my timpte, so I don't personally see any wind drag compared to smooth sides. I think the height above your sleeper is where the drag comes in. My timpte is 84" and 96" wide , the husker is only 75" but is 102" wide and still I get way better fuel economy with the shorter husker

Firestone FT 491 seem to work pretty good for me so far. You don't want a deep treaded tire on a hopper, it will start cupping out and you won't get very many miles out of them. Done this twice with deep tread. Didn't have very good luck with Continental or Generals either.

My 2 cents is the only tire made is michelin. Ever hear people talk about tires they always compare other brands to michelin.

Its all about having the proper air pressure...and having your trailer going staight down the road...ever align your axles on your trailer? Or something as easy as having plenty of grease on your 5th wheel...one tire manufacturer compaired to the next is all about preference..just like you have ford guys..chevy guys ..they will both tell you the other is junk..but theirs is best..and cupping tires are from running empty or bad shocks..

I do like my peterbilt to. And when it gives mud or bad weather I'll politely wave as I pass you by. Not all tires are created equal (or trucks). As far as rolling resistance I'm sure other brands have come a long way. But there is still a huge difference in rubber compounds.
