Hopper bottom size

I had basically the same trailer 2years ago and all I could haul was grain and fertilizer. I didn't have enough space for feeds like ddg, soybean meal, or screenings. Also limits your ability to get the weight where you need it to be.

Do yourself a favor and pull for someone else who has a trailer for you and get to know the hopper part of this industry first. I'm assuming you have never pulled a hopper by your question and before you buy a trailer and find out you dont like the whole hopper thing save yourself a headache and use somebody's trailer first.

Low rates....read the past forum messages on bulk loads about rates. Very informative. I got into it because of losing money farming and hauled alot of cheap loads due to lack of education and then decided I didn't want to lose money

Wide base singles roll good and save weight. Timpte super hopper will probobaly have the most cubes. Weight diff between that and Cornhusker will not be much, and CH makes a 44'10" hopper with close to specs of the Timpte. Get big doors if your doing feed ingredients. You can live without vibrators if you have two rows of knock rails. But a good vibrator will help out nicely. You can always buy a suction cup vibratotor set up later on. I would not go over 84" sides, you will run into that 1940's feed mill thats to short, or the farmer that can't load a trailer that tall. I find myself dumping air bags alot to fit in. I've been sneaking aound with a 50'X84"X96" Timpte Super hopper. I like running midwest and north to south, then out west to Washington. I usually haul 33ton. helps with income. Its nice since KS and OK opened up their 90000 rule. Permits required for OK, KS, CO, and over 80 for interstate is available for NE, SD. If I do go up in weight I just need to call the oversize hotlines in the states I want and ask for annual permits? I might add a tag to a truck.
