What do you think is best money maker running regional. Mid West. No hasmat or vans.

Your vans, Reefers are going to fluctuate a lot more than if you run a Hopper. Hoppers tend not to bounce with the market as much as van or reefer do. Really you should be looking at what you are wanting to run vs what the best pay is predominantly because typically if you hate something your doing your not going to apply yourself and if things get bad, its a lot harder to want to bounce back from it vs walk away if its something you hate doing.

Yep.

I have hauled pneumatic [cement] , hopper and end dump. As far as liking it , the cement was far easier with less hassels . However their is no money in it really. Too much empty miles. I ran every day from Des Moines to Humboldt ,ks empty. Way too much empty. But I liked the work.

Grain was basically miserable. Hot sweaty dirty. But I liked being out in the country. Loading / unloading not so fun.

End dump I did local. Only bad part was getting stuck in mud and rocks now and then. How ever that was a rare job. We mostly hauled rock sand and salt home everyday. Most around here is mud and asphalt work that don't pay well. Would probably like regional end dump .

Thought about cattle. I don't know anything about it other than lots of drivers I worked with did it. Bt sure if it pays well.

Got to do something that will pay for truck/trailer . Don't want to fold after spending every dime I own on equipment. I can suffer through just about anything. Once one trailer is paid off I plan on buying a different type and doing that work. Seems like owning 2 or 3 would keep many options in future open when no loads doing other things.

But got to make sure the first adventure works.

Might add in that I excluded vans because they scare me. Seen too many blow over in these kansas winds. Plus I have no clue how to back one up into a parking spot or between two trucks at dock. Don't want to smash trucks practicing either. I've never had to do it . Don't know squat about 90 or 45 .

Flatbed is just too physically demanding for my old broken up ass.
