So what grounds, does a carrier have when another carrier is putting up loads and they have no brokers bond or any type of guarantee that you will get paid. Trucking companies taking loads, what can a person do to get paid????

Unless it's an exempt commodity, they MUST have a broker authority/MC number and an associated surety bond or trust. If they aren't required to have a surety bond nor an MC I personally wouldn't haul for them unless they had outstanding credit or some other payment arrangement was made via credit card or cash upfront. Of course you could always just take a chance on them and hold your breath that they'll pay you. Just be aware you're going to have to pursue the matter in court or through collectors like Baxter & Bailey if they don't pay.

Hopefully it is someone you know and trust! If not, not sure what your recourse is.

Would not haul it to start with. But in your case, sell the bills, if you can get someone to bite. (Factoring)
