Some should have paid off debt in 2018 when the rates were fat instead of digging a deeper hole by buying that shiny new truck.

Low rates and lost productivity from ELD’s? What a winning combination, that should really make this industry attractive! Those folks from the trucking alliance are some shrewd operators, I bet those 18 year olds just can’t wait to replace us!

When someone I haven't seen for a while asks me if I'm still driving truck I would always reply; "til I die". I'm having second thoughts. I've been out here for 31 years. For me it's more the cultural change that's hard to accept.

Back when I first started, most of the carriers would have a couple of cases of beer waiting for them at the shop on Friday when they rolled in, and by 4:30 the shop resembled a family reunion, everyone was there including the wife’s and kids. Everyone would get primed, then after a few beers everyone would hit the bank, and then head home and get cleaned up, so we could all meet up at the local watering hole, and pick up where we left off. The world made sense back then.
