I don’t generally get on this forum and comment anything, but I want to help out with this. For the record, we’ve not had one of our drivers ticketed here, but we are local and know quite a bit about it. Recently, Love’s built a CarStop in Vian, Oklahoma. That is exit 297 on I-40. It does not have any truck parking. Since the opening of the store, the local police have cited literally hundreds of truck drivers for illegal U-turns and such like. Turning around in a business parking lot is considered an illegal U-turn from all appearances. My understanding it is a $270 fine and is basically a racket. Just would like to advise all of you not to even bother exiting there unless you have a delivery somewhere and would appreciate it if you would pass this along to any truck drivers you know. If you do happen to find that you’ve exited, follow the road to US-64, turn east or west, and you’ll come to another road with a sign to enter I-40 within 6-10 miles.
