Short crop

Is anyone else seeing or hearing this years crop is a little short? Beans sound like they are ok for yield but hearing corn could be down as much as 20%. May be looking for things to do with hopper bottoms!

i have actually heard the opposite from most of the 3rd quarter companies earnings reports i subscribe to. They are saying about 26% more acreage was planted this year most of which is subsidies for biodiesel

I think in alot of areas it going to be another above average yield for corn and soybeans. Not a record yield like the last few years but definitely above average.

I don't think there's any more acreage being created. I think due to population increase tillable acreage is decreasing. And the government is increasing crp acres so that's coming out of production as well.

I'm curious about the subsidies situation you mentioned?
