Please clarify: Is detainage pay usually first two hours free or is it first 2 hrs free but at 2:01 then the 3 rd hour starts. Example 4 hrs @ 50.00 per hr means at 4 hrs charge is 200.00 or would charge be 100.00? Also any comments on hourly rates that most receivers pay would be appreciated. It seems they don?t care if they have to pay a couple hundred, but as haulers, we are crazy not to charge at least 120.00 per hr because that is the minimum one should make if truck is moving and with elogs, you get stranded and loose another day. Rates have to go up

My customers normally pay 2 hours of wait time are free. After two hours you get $50/hour. So if you arrive at noon and out at 3PM, you would get 1 hour of detention or $50. If you are out at 2:30 you should get $25. 5PM you'd get $150. There are ALWAYS stipulations with this. A lot of people won't pay at first come first serve facilities or if they do it will often be more than two hours for free. Also, if you're late for a set appointment, I can guarantee that you will not get detention.

Oh and don't be that guy to do it to the exact minute. $50 doesn't divide well into 60.
