Farmers Pride acquiring South Dakota elevator

A northeast Nebraska farmers' cooperative is acquiring an elevator in South Dakota. Farmers Pride announced Monday that it is purchasing Avon Farmers Elevator of Avon, S.D. The acquisition will include grain facilities, agronomy storage and equipment and bulk fuel delivery and plant assets. It was announced last September that Farmers Pride leased the grain facilities in Avon for six months. Acquisition discussions were initiated in December 2021 by both companies’ boards of directors. Avon members approved the sale in February 2022.
