Georgia Department of Transportation suspending road construction for Labor Day weekend

ATLANTA — In an effort to ease traffic congestion statewide during the Labor Day holiday weekend, the Georgia Department of Transportation is suspending interstate highway construction lane closures. The lane closures will be suspended from Friday, Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. to Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 5 a.m. Lane closures will also be limited on major state routes that directly serve key tourist and recreation centers.
