Battling weather and trade issues, farmers need help more than ever

Farmers are used to tough times. But, even for myself, this fall has been more challenging than usual. I chose to become a farmer because I love the work and being part of something bigger than myself. Unfortunately, this life does come with drawbacks — mainly because of the factors that are beyond our control. As with most years, this begins and ends with the weather. Across the country, we have had hurricane-flattened fields, unprecedented rainfall, hail and snow-covered harvest fields. No one region has escaped suffering.
