Soaring diesel prices may force smaller trucking companies to shut down

In a March 10 letter addressed to President Biden, ATA President Chris Spear addressed the current fuel crisis caused in part by the U.S. decision to ban Russian oil in response to the war in Ukraine. As of Friday morning, the average cost of a gallon of diesel in the U.S. increased to $5.132, up from $5.058 on Thursday, according to AAA.
