Need a quick recap? The number of new drivers working in fleets of fewer than 100 trucks grew 332,000 between 2012 and 2018. The number of new drivers at fleets with more than 500 trucks rose just 155,000 in the same six-year period. Clearly, the big carriers are not going to be the place anyone looks for new, reliable capacity.
