Grain Elevator Explosion in Royal

An explosion occurred at a grain elevator in Royal on Tuesday afternoon. Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling says the explosion happened around 3:15pm Tuesday at the Ag Partners Elevator. According to Raveling, no one was in the elevator at the time of the explosion, and no injuries were reported. The explosion was said to have rattled residents homes and windows. When deputies arrived on scene the area was evacuated and fire crews began putting water onto the fire once the facility's power and gas were turned off.
