Pembroke farm victim of $140K+ grain theft

An Elkton man is suspected of theft and receiving over $142,000 in crop payments not belonging to him, according to an arrest warrant from Kentucky State Police.

Richard Jake Hicks, 31, is accused of receiving payments in the amount of $142,720.83 between Oct. 2, 2015, and Sept. 15 for corn and soybeans that did not belong to him from Christian County Grain in Pembroke. According to the warrant, Hicks has not participated in any farm service agency programs.
