A California trucker got the surprise of his life when he bought a scratcher ticket at a truck stop on a whim and found himself hundreds of thousands of dollars richer within minutes.

Fresno County-based trucker Cruz Rivas Castro was hauling a load of fish along the I-5 Grapevine when he and his co-driver stopped at the Pilot Travel Center on 31642 Castiac Road to fuel up, according to a press release from the California Lottery. While in the truck stop, Castro spotted a lottery vending machine and purchased two Mystery CrosswordScratchers.
