Farmworker Groups Allege H-2A Fraud

I saw this posted today. I had no idea that was illegal. I have seen a lot of companies, in the Ag community doing it, and I looked into it myself to help combat lack of qualified drivers and job hoppers.

It seems like the only drivers available are job hoppers and people no one else will hire, so I thought use SA's to driver would be a good answer to the problem. There are even facebook groups for these guys who want to come here and drive.

Glad I did not continue in that direction.

You can use H2B program. Similar program. B stands for business vs agriculture. Different wage levels.

I've got a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg.... If you have a problem with job hoppers you may need to reevaluate your business.

Farmer in nd farmed out his African workers to a trucking company. The trucking company hauls gravel and stones after the fertilizer company doesn't have more fertilizer to haul.
aiding and abetting the trucking company and the fertilizer manufacturer the farmer is human trafficking.

One area agronomy company farmed out their Africans to work for farmers. To drive trucks to haul grain to the elevator

AFRICANS CAN ONLY WORK FOR THE SPONSOR. Anything else is human trafficking

Nothing says great paying job more than exploited immigrants, it’s really helped recruit American born youth into the industry, the ATA 18 year old driver program has been a huge success because of it, they are almost up to 4 people now, it’s also been great for insurance rates.

Nothing says explotation like paying an experienced man $2500 a month doing custom harvest and working 7a to midnight 6 days a week and 11a to midnight on Sunday.

Biggest mistake of my life. Farmers working around all the overtime with their exempt status and working you every day with little sleep for months on end.

THAT is explotation. Then on top of that getting stuck with a ticket for not having a harvest permit and getting your license suspended until it's paid.

Nah... I've been in that position where i was hundreds of miles from my car and no way to leave. Kinda hard to catch a bus in the middle of a corn field.

How did I get myself into that? I had no idea that was even legal to work a guy that many hours driving truck.
