It's TQL (Total Quality Logistics) brokerage. He will move it as cheap as possible if he does it like they do the van and flatbed loads.

I can pay $122 per ton. so if you can scale 46 ton then $3176. I have minimum 15 loads per week and up to 30 loads. rates will increase as demand increases later in the year. Open to rate negotiation based on how many trucks you can provide on a regular basis.

Those figures don't add up on my calculator. I live real close to STL and would like to know what route I would need to take to haul 46 ton back to STL ??

Do the math he figured 26 ton @ $122 = 3176. Not that crazy but should be at 25 ton I my opinion.

Well he has these same loads posted on here and it says $3100 per load so is it by the ton or flat rate by the load ??????

Working with TQL is all about establishing a relationship with the good agents. They have a bad name because they handle alot of freight in poor freight lanes, but I have done very well with a some TQL reefer loads. Last load was just shy of $3 per mile from Idaho to Pennsylvania. Not saying I make a habit out of hauling there loads, but its all about negotiating, and building relationships in this business. Those who choose to be negative, and pick on brokers will be sucking hind tit there whole career.

I'd like to know who can hauled 26 tons with a sleeper truck and a dump trailer!!?? Needs to be figured at the most 24 tons...just my two cents worth.

TQL rates are just crazy!!! Talk about taking carriers for a ride. I have nothing against brokers and or agents making an honest living but TQL just RAPES the carriers and the shippers! That is my 2 cents.

You say carriers get "raped"? Nobody is holding a gun to there head telling them to haul a cheap load. Peaple act like brokers are screwing the carriers, yet its all by free choice to haul the brokers load.

Don't ask me I pull hoppers. I would happily haul at a good rate figured on 24 ton if in that market. My trucks have sleepers and I can haul 26 but industry standard for a hopper is usually 25 ton. Any more is just a bonus in my opinion, more product moved, and more in my pocket. That is how I figure my rates and could care less what an end dump makes or hauls. Find what works, negotiate, and quit being the victim.

On a side note I think these loads pay about $2.30 a mile to Naperville, IL, if I were in UT that isn't far off of fair. I imagine for the volume he is looking for the rate might go up. If last year re peats itself they will be paying closer to $4.00 / mile with very flexible hours in Jan. and Feb. if those cities run low on road salt.

Good luck, be safe, and prosperous!

You can load 24 - 27 tons. whatever you can scale. I pay a rate of $122 per ton. So your rate will be dependant on what you can haul.

Keep in mind not to compare apples to oranges. End dumps speced out for long distance hauls have a heavier tare weight than those speced for sand and gravel, primarily because they have to be able to haul a wide variety of materials, including scrap metal, without falling apart on the first trip. Try putting engines blocks or number 2 heavy melt in your half round dump, with a light tare weight and watch what happens to it. It costs more to run a dump than a hopper.

Here in NY state we can haul 36 tons maximum with an over weight permit. But 46 tons seriously? Freight brokers don't need to be in the bulk business. I'm just saying.

Mark. If you had read through the comments comments completely you would see I meant 46,000 pounds. usually all the carriers take 24-26 tons. some have truck and trailers that can scale 29 tons. Freight brokers offer access to more loads to more places. if the rates are suitable then use us, if not then there are other loads. I make it simple for carriers who work with me and have plenty of good realtionships.

Ok, I'll give the credit for the typo mistake. But the facts remain the same. $122.00 per ton hauling 24 tons is too cheap at $2.21 per mile.
