Ag hoppers Hauling feed ingredients

Dec 06, 2014 at 02:49 PM CST
I bought a 42x74x96 hopper with 29x30 doors with ag hoppers for a job that is not working out.Any thought on hauling feed ingredients over the road with this trailer. My last trailer had 36x36 doors and was 43x78x102 most of the time i never came close to filling it .
My main concern is the size of the doors.

Those are smaller doors but it would work. U might have to work at it a little harder to get pellets started but as far as volume as long as you dont haul midds you should be fine.

I just want to a 96x 66x42 with the same size doors you have what I did was took a pitchfork and bent the end of the forks at a 90 degree angle to stick up in the hoppers it works very well

Slopes are shallower with ag hoppers, plus smaller doors..Only good for grain, just my opinion.

I have a Wilson with the high volume style hopper and the biggest doors available....first load when brand new was blood meal. I remember it came out pretty good, and that says alot with a brand new trailer where grain and such hasn't smoothed the sides yet. I did push down with a broom on the ends and run the vibrators. But generally not too bad. I wouldn't be afraid of it again.
