hi, we are looked at a 2010 kbh hopper. it is 40ft long with 96 inch sides. my question is this: will we be able to keep it loaded? is it too tall?

I suppose you might find a few farm augers that might not be tall enough to fill that trailer. I run a truck with 13 foot clearance, and never had much trouble with the height.

Personally speaking, it's too tall. In the field there will be quite a few farmers that can't load this trailer because of the tall sides. I can think of two products in particular that that trailer would benefit from.. Wheat Mids and Rice Hulls, and just about any products that consist of hulls or because even with my high sie trailer (78 inch) sides, it's difficult for me to get a payload. Everything else my trailer (78 inch) sides is perfect and I wouldn't get anything less than a 78 inch side trailer... I can think of 2 times that I could have used a trailer as tall as the one your asking about... other than that.. which is rare.... buy a 78 inch side...
