I have a 2015 579 that I bought new. It has had no problems, other than the batteries, and lost the drive shaft at 5000. miles. Looking back I would have been better off to buy the long nose model, as they may hold thier value. It gets good milelage and comfortable to drive. I see the used market seams to be about what I have left to pay on mine, after makeing a 50,000. down payment. and now have 150,000. miles on it.

Bought mine 10 months ago a 2016. Good ride, lots of room to move around. No problems with truck. The navigation and radio have problems. They switch to a different vendor and have had a recall on it but it still doesn't work right.

I have 3 579's and really like them, they're very comfortable and driver friendly..the first one has a Cummins and at 30000 mile starting drinking oil cause the rings loosened up and aligned up to cause so they put 6 new cylinder packs in...they said they had quite a few of them do that back in 2013....all 3 have the 80" bunks which has lots of room...I drove one of them last while driver on vacation, absolutely just love driving if I had to drive every day again...I'd have it for my personal. ..you won't be disappointed. ...biggest problem is with all emission stuff on them putting pto/blower is a real challenge. ...if you get one buy any and all extra warranty you can...I should add the other 2 truck's are Paccar engines and have ahad good luck with them so far

Thank you for the input guys. I am trying to make the decision between 579 and 389. I have been reading and hearing lots of good things about the 579.

When the 579 is five years old it will be worth about 40,000 less then a 389. Good luck

My advice, coming from a young guy who looks for trucks for people, buy a 389 glider with a cat motor in it. You'll pay 150k+ but you get a 4 year warranted drivetrain plus towing if you'd like. Single turbo cats are the best to run and they're repowering them with cat platinum parts. If you'd like more info drop me a line

That is my biggest worry. I've been talking with Pete on FMV leases vs outright purchase. A lot of companies wont do a FMV lease on a glider yet. I spent an ungodly amount on maintenance last year which has put me on the FMV path.

Us little guys buy the trucks turned in from these leases and get stuck paying for overhauls and all the various components.
