When to start an hourly rate

I'll be hauling for a farm during harvest and the truck will be paid by the hour. When should that time start and stop? When it leaves and returns to the yard ( about a 45 minute drive) or when it arrives and leaves the farm?

I charge from the time I arrive at farm to when I return home at night

Hourly should be charged key to key

What are you charging for an hourly rate for tandem ag hopper? I am listing an add at $175 an hour. Is that too much? I paid $4.24 for fuel, insurance is up, and trailer prices are $52,000 plus.

Unfortunately, yes it is likely too high. The going rate around here seems to be about $2.50 per round trip mile. A 500 mile day over 12 hours would be $104 per hour. I am certainly not saying those numbers are set in stone, but it is a benchmark to consider.

It should be $175 per hour! Unfortunately, theres plenty of people under selling themselves just as stated by someone else's reply.

My opinion is that it cost at least 130 an hour to operate a truck. You can't just add up fuel and time. The wear and tear has to be factored in since at the end of the year that all adds up to big money in repairs and maintenance.

Exactly why my rig is up for sale. Although a bit hard to sell while it's sitting at the shop that is not working on it.
