Who determined that is "we'll pay"? My math is: 910 Bushels @ $1.00 = $910.00 / 424 miles = $2.148 per mile. Well pay? Not so much, in my opinion only. Others may have a different view, of course😉

Driver that's because you drive that old outdated antiquated equipment. If you had modern technologically advanced equipment like I do, you'd see that those are excellent rates. I drive the truck like you do when loaded and put the truck on a majestic cloud and float back on the deadhead leg free of charge. While getting a nap of course. So the deadhead miles cost me nothing. Not even driving hours. It's 2023. Update your equipment.

Outdated equipment looks good in the driveway and title in hand, trumps a payment any day. So driver let him brag on his over priced plastic toy.

Why is it whenever “US” is involved in their business name, you automatically know the “US” isn’t involved?

It does appear that the load postin feller would really appreciate the magic carpet ride you have.

Google sarcasm when you get a chance. Also I haven't had a payment on anything since 2010. I don't even use a credit card for fuel. 100% cash operation since the recession in 2008. I learned my lesson.

I have day cab Internationals with Cornhusker trailers on super singles that weigh under 24,000 which means 1,000 bushels of corn. Texas issues 1547 permits that allow 84,000 gross. My permit covers 20 counties. I routinely transport 30 tons in these counties. The harvesters have non EGR, nol Def ISM engines set at 370 HP. I just got through with my 2nd quarter IFTA. I averaged a little over 7 miles per gallon. I could turn the trip from Heidenheimer to Center on a little over 60 gallons. $250 for fuel, $250 for the driver leaves $500 for the truck. At that I wouldn't mind allowing the driver $100 for motel leaving $400 a day for the truck. All of my trucks and trailers are paid off. I am 79 years old, have owned trucks since I was 20. And I have always operated lightweight fuel effecient equpiment. And I have never really cared about fancy trucks. My biggest problem has always been income tax.
