Farm groups concerned about PotashCorp-Agrium merger

The possibility of a merger between two of the world’s largest fertilizer companies is the latest example of a troubling trend in the agriculture industry, according to the head of a Saskatchewan farmers’ group.

“You’ve seen the movie Mad Max, where one corporation owns everything? That’s the extreme of where we’re going,” Agriculture Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) president Norm Hall said from his farm near Wynyard.
