BROOKSVILLE — Plans for the county’s first real truck stop were approved unanimously by the Hernando County Commission earlier this month. The Race Trac at the Interstate 75 interchange at State Road 50 will expand beyond its current footprint. The approved master plan changes include building an 8,100-square-foot convenience store and separate fueling areas for up to 26 cars and six trucks. At the rear of the the expanded 5-acre property will be an extended parking area for trucks. The truck stop is at the southwest corner of SR 50 and Bronson Boulevard and the northwest corner of Bronson Boulevard and Cracker Crossing.
