WASHINGTON — A bill that would pave the way for commercial drivers younger than 21 to drive trucks across state lines received a resounding endorsement from an organization that represents freight industry interests nationwide during a Feb. 4 Senate hearing. Chris Spear, president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations, applauded legislation sponsored by Indiana Republican Sen. Todd Young that would lower the age requirement of 21 to 18 for interstate commercial driving.
