FLORENCE S.C. (WPDE) — The trucking industry has played a major role throughout the coronavirus pandemic by transporting the stuff we need. However, officials with the South Carolina Trucking Association said the industry has faced a shortage of experienced drivers. Jimmy Mayo has been a truck driver for 43 years and has come from a family of truck drivers. Mayo is 59 years old but told ABC 15 he has no plans on slowing down.
