I did not know that the term Trucker was debasing to us, I was raised that it was a compliment. Today I found out from an old school gentleman that it was actually a debasing statement and not a compliment at all. I still don't know exactly why but he made it very clear to me that it indeed was. I will try and discontinue using it in my future posts. I did not mean any thing detrimental towards any that are professionals in our industry. Please accept my heartfelt apology. \n The next group of individuals that I would like to apologize to are the farmers, you guys are hard working, salt of the earth individuals. I realize that you are just trying to keep your hands busy during the down time until planting begins. I realize that it is hard for all of us to find good quality hands in today's culture. Do whatever you may, I have no reason to be concerned for what you haul your freight for and if you do or do not receive a subsidy. All I was trying to point out was that we are actually working against each other instead of with each other. Once again please accept my apology for getting a little out of hand with some of you. I do not want to bite the hands that feed me. \n The next group of individuals that I would like to apologize to are the honorable brokers and honorable shippers out there. Often times it sounds as if I lump all brokers and shippers into the same sewer pot. For those of you that are honorable you do not deserve to be placed into that pot, you deserve a compliment for being honorable and keeping the rates fair for us Independent Carriers during this hard time. \n Finally, I would like to thank Jared at Bulk Loads and Flat Loads for allowing me to exercise my freedom of speech on your forum. Without you allowing me to do this I would not have been able to hone my writing skills and learn very valuable lessons from those that have given me a better education to the Bulk community. I will still stop by from time to time to check on everybody, but I have to move on to my next adventure, the Independent Carrier Group, as well as keep my personal trucking company running. I agree that the forum is a nice thing but to many people take it to seriously. I tried to help a few along the way, but really the negatives for me have outweighted the good. That is why I rarely post anymore. I believe I need to clear up something for all of us here. There was an event that occurred on another forum called Rate per mile masters this weekend. A friend of mine asked me to come over and give my opinion on some of the topics, so I did. I posted the article bottom fishing over there, which I intended to be like a David Letterman style joke. Well the doggone thing went viral and traffic was coming in from everywhere, along with arguments which most of you know I can's pass up a good debate. I still don't know for sure what happened but Sunday morning they started banning some of my content. I asked them what I had done wrong, no explanation was given to me. Finally somebody informed me that it was because I had talked about Bulk Loads, Flat Loads, Internet Truckstop, as well as the DAT board (of which I pay for memberships to each). I had also made a comment about LandStar not in a so polite manner (but it was the truth). Come to find out the guy in charge of Rate per mile masters is peddleing Landstar, DAT, along with possibly some other items to the individuals that post over there. At least Matt and Jared are honest with their sales, none of us have a problem with them advertising in their stores, that is just good business. When they took down my content I asked them to take down all of it, I am very big on freedom of speech, one of the few rights that I still currently have left. They allowed it to continue to drive traffic to their page on Face Book, it took me about two hours to remove my content one by one until it was all gone,\n \n I don't go to Face Book very often because it brings us painful memories of my son and I, this is where we used to talk when I was on the road before he passed away. I was leased to LandStar at the time and was in a blizzard in Montana when he passed. My family was distraught and when I asked LandStar for help guess what they were more concerned about getting flowers to the church instead of me. I had to call my cousin who at the time worked for CH Robinson and get my own load through them She set it up that I had two weeks to deliver so I could get back home and take care of my family. The way LandStar handled the situation infuriated me so bad that I decided to get my own authority and swore that any operator that worked with me would never have to go through such a thing. I had also caught LandStar taking extra money numerous times when I was leased on to them. Just what kind of funky math is 65% of 95% in the first place? I knew what I was getting into when I leased on with them, I just needed to ride under the blue star until I had my two years back under my belt. My son passed away right at about that two year mark, so in the end it all works together for the good. (This is the story that they did not like about LandStar).\n \n Through the course of all of that a few of you that know me from over here and other places as well, informed me of my ignorant misuse of the word trucker, and a few other things I had said as well. The apology did indeed come from me and was not coerced by any. I felt if I was to be the man of integrity that I claim to be that it would only be right to apologize to those that I had wrongfully made claims against (whether willingly or ignorantly).\n \n I have been working for a while on the Independent Carrier Group, which is basically an exclusive group for smaller Independent Carriers like myself. I had just finished it up about two weeks ago and have been making adjustments as needed from those of you that have let me know what I had screwed up on the website and forum. I felt that we needed an arena that we could discuss our expertise honestly without the fear of somebody taking our statements out of context and doing the mamby pamby way that our country likes to do things now, and end up taking small guys to court and putting them out of business. The purpose of my website and forum is to protect our trade secrets from outside sources that do not have our best interest as theirs. If it is ever found that one of those such sources have entered into our arena and are trying to use any information gained from my website. I will personally sue them for violating the rules and misuse of our website.\n \n In closing to this long winded posting, it was not anybody from Bulk Loads that caused the problem. Nobody called Matt or Jared and whined or complained about me. Jared and I have talked a few times and he like me is supportive of our freedom of speech. Found out today that I owe each and every one of the Independent Carriers, Owner Operators, and good drivers an apology. I did not know that the term Trucker was debasing to us, I was raised that it was a compliment. Today I found out from an old school gentleman that it was actually a debasing statement and not a compliment at all. I still don't know exactly why but he made it very clear to me that it indeed was. I will try and discontinue using it in my future posts. I did not mean any thing detrimental towards any that are professionals in our industry. Please accept my heartfelt apology.

The next group of individuals that I would like to apologize to are the farmers, you guys are hard working, salt of the earth individuals. I realize that you are just trying to keep your hands busy during the down time until planting begins. I realize that it is hard for all of us to find good quality hands in today's culture. Do whatever you may, I have no reason to be concerned for what you haul your freight for and if you do or do not receive a subsidy. All I was trying to point out was that we are actually working against each other instead of with each other. Once again please accept my apology for getting a little out of hand with some of you. I do not want to bite the hands that feed me.

The next group of individuals that I would like to apologize to are the honorable brokers and honorable shippers out there. Often times it sounds as if I lump all brokers and shippers into the same sewer pot. For those of you that are honorable you do not deserve to be placed into that pot, you deserve a compliment for being honorable and keeping the rates fair for us Independent Carriers during this hard time.

Finally, I would like to thank Jared at Bulk Loads and Flat Loads for allowing me to exercise my freedom of speech on your forum. Without you allowing me to do this I would not have been able to hone my writing skills and learn very valuable lessons from those that have given me a better education to the Bulk community. I will still stop by from time to time to check on everybody, but I have to move on to my next adventure, the Independent Carrier Group, as well as keep my personal trucking company running.
