Mn only lets you use the multi axles during the winter time so that hurts you when your trucks are coming back into the state. Also if you can haul 28 tons with your tandems thats a good tonage. Most feed loads call for only 25 tons and the places you haul into some times cant hold more then 25 tons, so if you go to a rig that can haul 32 tons you sometimes will only be able to haul the smaller load. County roads and interstates are not included. I have yet to talk to a county engineer in southern mn willing to allow a permit on the county roads. You would need a 50 foot trailer to get the inner bridge from the 1st drive to the last trailer axle on both configurations of 6 or 7 axle. when I checked u needed around 47 ft of inner bridge on the 6 axle and 51 ft on the 7axle. Some guys from northern IA are running with seven axles and 50 ft wilsons and super singles and weighing from what I heard at about 32 to 33000. hope this helps. We have a spread and we put our own lift axle on it and that is great for saving money on tires wouldn't go without it. The only ones that go 86,000lbs all year round are the bull racks on two lane with a spread axle. Triple axles can do 90,000 all year round on two lane. We were told that directly by the IDOT.
