Hoppers are lighter and can haul more payload, and are cheaper to maintain than belt trailer. Some products will bridge and stick in a hopper, and a belt trailer will have no problem unloading the same product, such as mill run, bone meal, bakery,compost. Goods and bads for both, just depends on what you haul. Hoppers dont leave the mess that belts do when unloading. Belts are more versatile because you can unload just about anything. anywhere.
