It seems to me that in this race to the bottom that we should help them. Heck the other day I overheard a guy saying that all he needs is .46 per mile to make any money. Now there may be just a little bit of sarcasm in my opening statement, but can my fellow truckers blame the brokers when we have DA truckers out here running freight down the road at .50 - $1.00 per mile? Can we get upset when the shippers keep telling the brokers that they can get the load done cheaper and cheaper. Heck I saw three trucks abandoned the other day with loads still on them because the carrier could not afford to finish out the load. I have been seeing more trucks being placed out of service on scales because the DA truckers can't afford to keep them fixed. I guess what I have been warning all of us about is starting to occur.\n \n What do you brokers think about the sewer pot that you are now rolling around in? I have a line of owner operators that have failed and they are wanting to lease on to me. It has been hard for me to say no to them, but I will only add on equipment as we can support. Many a shipper are calling direct now and asking for us to work direct with them in the next pickup cycle. The answer is no, never have they taken pay cuts, they only vote themselves pay hikes. They are working on a new bill to pay for such pay hikes as we speak. I have heard a rumour that this time they are going to raise the taxes on the truckers (again), but they have figured out that they can go after brokers as well. Hince the comment that I always make that we better start working together willingly or we will work together by force.\n \n Who is going to pay for such a new tax? We all know the answer to that. The trucker will, the broker will, then in turn if we are all smart enough to just tell the shippers that we have to past these cost onto them. The shipper and receiver will, then finally the American people will at the shelves. This is a fine line that we are dancing in this current thinning of the herd. Does anybody else remember what happens in history when a government tries and tax and regulate those that produce to such an extreme. I believe that each and every time this has happened some form of revolt has occurred, maybe that is why Obummer and his buddies want to take away the guns, they are scared that those that do the work will rise up and vacate them from their cushy little jobs and hold them accountable. I don't know about the rest of working America but I for one am tired of supporting abled bodied individuals that produce nothing. \n \n Brokers deserve their cut providing they are doing it the right way. They are already doing that, not big news to us truckers, we have been paying multiple taxes for the same tax for quite a few years now. I guess they just decided to nail everybody else along with us. Hey brokers !!!

Hey brokers I know of some trucks out there that want to haul all the freight that you can get them for .25 per mile. It seems to me that in this race to the bottom that we should help them. Heck the other day I overheard a guy saying that all he needs is .46 per mile to make any money. Now there may be just a little bit of sarcasm in my opening statement, but can my fellow truckers blame the brokers when we have DA truckers out here running freight down the road at .50 - $1.00 per mile? Can we get upset when the shippers keep telling the brokers that they can get the load done cheaper and cheaper. Heck I saw three trucks abandoned the other day with loads still on them because the carrier could not afford to finish out the load. I have been seeing more trucks being placed out of service on scales because the DA truckers can't afford to keep them fixed. I guess what I have been warning all of us about is starting to occur.

What do you brokers think about the sewer pot that you are now rolling around in? You too are now enjoying the fruits of your labor, you are now receiving your just desserts.

Here is what I have always said and I don't think any of you got it until now ( and I doubt that some of you will even get it now). If we don't start working together willingly than we will work together by force.

NO TRUCKERS = NO BROKERS
