Don't need to follow a particular lane. I usually just follow the money. So which trailer will make the most money on the average?\n I've been pulling flatbed and doing my own dispatching from the truck. I was looking for a situation where I could get loaded and unloaded in 2 - 3 hours total per day. That way I can still make 600 miles, give or take each day. That is if I can keep my deadhead under 100 miles or so. I don't care what the per mile rate is. I like to take 1 dollar per mile and add 500 to 700 dollars per day to come up with the rate (600 mile = $600+ $500 for a total of $1100 or $1.83 per mile, if it's 450 miles plus $500 per day the rate is $950 or $2.11 per mile) but that is for another post.", "contentHtml": "Thanks for the heads up. I don't think your revenue and mile targets are realistic to achieve on a daily basis, if you are running legal. Expect at least 1-2 hours at every stop to load or unload, and sometimes it can be 4-6 hours. I ran 63,500 miles and had one major expence repair of $6,000 with the rest were under $2,000 each for a total of $40,936 in expences. That includes everything from meals, motels, drug testing, TVC and Fleet One fees, Office supplies, boots, gloves, tolls, fines and anything you can think of. Add $33,780 for fuel that averaged $3.72 per gallon for a total expence of $74,716 or $1.18 per mile on 63,500 miles. I could lower my fixed cost per mile by 10 cent if I ran 120,000 miles but then I would have to work 10 months instead of 5 months. According to my records I could have payed $3.16 per gal and not gone over $1.00 per mile for expence if I was running 120,000 miles a year.
