They work their tail off to get a loan for a truck, great! Then right out of the gate they run the piss out of the truck for $1.40/mi just to make a truck payment and hopefully insurance. Then, they unravel a turbo and trash an air to air and they don't have a dime to put in it.......but like my wife always tells me, be patient. These guys will weed themselves out; unfortunately, there's always one more of these guys standing in line to take their turn. Still waiting. There is always another guy that has no clue, but somehow finds that down payment, and the cycle repeats. It is getting worse because the new people coming in have no passion for the industry. No one cares about what they own and drive. The new breed only care about what goes in their pocket. We have more trucks roll in the shop missing half the interior and the dash is duct taped in and someone drives this piece of crap. It is probably CLOSE to DOT legal but I don't even want to have to get in it long enough to drive it in my bay to work on it, but I can't stay in business if I discriminate. I honestly don't understand. The other group of owners by cheap plastic crap trucks, spend their ass of trying to keep it decent, but with drivers in them they fall aprt faster than we can put new plastic in them. There are a few guys, mostly livestock guys that buy premium trucks maintain them and the old school ways. It gets to the point where I would \"almost\" work on these for free. \n For all of us waiting for that magical day that all of the ignorant people to leave this industry so we can all make a decent wage.....I don't think at this stage in my life that it will happen. Just look at the attitudes on this forum. You can warn people about the TQL's of our industry, but people call them and haul for them anyway. You can type your fingers to the bone but no one listens.
