SATURDAY MORNING THOUGHTS

last night as i was shopping thinking about how my day at work went.
*cant find BFG tires becuse they are on back order
*trucking company cut our rate on some loads
*a customer was mad because we couldn't find a truck for their load and they needed it bad (they called at 12:30 place closed at 2pm to load )
*another customer doesnt understand why i think they need to raise their rates becuse they already pay FSC
*another said, He got this done last month for $1.68 per mile now they can't move it!
* reading and hearing about driver shortage & truck shortage

when i left the store i got everything i came for, today when i go to home depot they will have everything i need. So if there is a truck shortage where all frieght sitting ? who doesnt have what they need ? think about it on a normal day we can get almost anything we need . I feel the people that are saying the is a shortage are the ones that have the cheaper freight to move . or want something moved now with a standard rate.
i agree that there are less trucks out there i agree i could use some more drivers i agree i need more GOOD drivers ! How many drivers do you think you can find when you cant pay them for all the time spent living in the truck for a week or more, isnt their time worth alot more then a $1000.00 per week .better pay would equal more drivers

Again where is all this frieght can't get moved ? and if you find some i bet it doesn't pay ,$1.45 per mile and 30% fsc is not a good rate today!! those tires have went from $250.00 to $450.00 do we need a tire surcharge now ?
Not only is the freight getting moved ,it getting moved Cheap!

We had truck for the above load the day before but the customer didnt want it, they didnt need the product the next day it's a 911 thats not a shortage thats poor planning on their part.
our loads that we lost i was asking for money a few months ago and now carrier said the can beat my rate by 15%
Better rates = Trucks and more pay for the driver

We pay $4.00 per gal fuel becuse we need it and there is no other choice , there are many different oil/gas companies but yet they all charge the same price.
the all are making millions a year profit. How can the charge the same price ? you would think they all have different operating costs like we do.
why doesnt one these companies say we will sell our fuel for 15% cheaper ? they would get more business and would make more money. Reason they stick together becuse they know we need the fuel, and they all know they can make money
stick together work together they can, we can't ! till we can there will be cheap rates and a so called driver shortage .
