Has anyone ever heard of a driveshaft having to be timed?

I had a truck that had a vibration that I couldn't loacate. Yokes were lined up correctly. A buddy of mine told me there was a timing mark on the slip joint yoke and the drive shaft. I checked mine and it was off 180 degrees. I lined the marks up and the vibration quit.

I believe the terminology you are looking for is "Phasing" the driveline. Which intails making sure all yokes / Ujoints are in line.
