I'm look'n at getting a 43'x102"x66" with all weight saving options. What would be the lighter, more dependable, & cheaper trailer ? Bear in mind I have a International Prostar that weigh's 21500 with a 1/2 a tank of fuel.

Posted by a private BulkLoads.com member. i run a merritt so i cant speak for any other trailer. but that is an extremely heavy truck to be hauling anything that pays by how much weight u can haul. my truck weighs 16500 w/ 1/4 tank 2@100 gals. 2006 columbia 70' mid roof xt detroit

My brochure from 2010 models shows a 72" sided trailer being the lowest height in a 43x102. Also I think I would definitely think about a lighter truck, 21500 in this business is extremely heavy. You will have a hard time hauling 50000# payload. My truck is a 07 Pete 386 with a 43x102x84 Timpte and I only weigh 26500 with 150 gallons of fuel. If you want to save weight I would start with your truck.

I don't think Timpte makes a 43x102x66 size trailer. My brochure from 2010 models shows a 72" sided trailer being the lowest height in a 43x102. Also I think I would definitely think about a lighter truck, 21500 in this business is extremely heavy. You will have a hard time hauling 50000# payload. I am running Freightliner Columbia's 70" midroof XT, with wide base tires, and single 120 fuel tank, pulling 2011 Timpte 42x78x96 Hoppers and the whole unit only weighs 25-26,000# depending on the driver. You are leaving alot of money on the table with that heavy of a truck.
