TRAILER ETCHING - DEEP PITTING- UNKNOWN SOURCE

One of my trailers has deep pitting in the Aluminum Floor slats. Since the driver at the time never told me I am tying to go back and figure out what product might have caused it. The only thing I can think of that I put in this trailer that has not been in the others is Potash. Whatever the product it was it was heavy and must have only made a pile in front and in back. This is the only trailer and this pitting is very deep over 1/16" deep and I really can't ell if it is continuing or not. Any thoughts as If it is potash obviously I would not want anymore. It doesn't make sense though as there are many potash loads in hoppers and I would think that it would do the same thing. Any ideas? Art Pfluger
