Just because i need to be home most weekends, do to other oblagations at the house. Everyone on here talks about what they offer yet when you call them they want you to be out 3 to 4 weeks at a time. I want to know who made the rule that you can either have a driving job or a family but you can't have both. Just a thought. I have fixed cost to meet running the truck or owning the truck. Variable cost kick in when I am running the truck. It takes a fixed number of miles in a fixed period (21) days a month @ 2550 mpwk to pay for the equipment and return a small profit or return on investment. If YOU have items that require you not to be able to meet my fixed cost and profit-then I am not interested. \n For the most part-it is over the road trucking. Remember the over the road part. I did make money and was good at it for a long time. I just thought i would be better off with a change, wanted to drive a company truck. As far as not being able to make it if you don't stay out 21 days at a time, well i have been home most weekends for the last ten yrs and still was able to make it work. Yes there was times i stayed out 3 weeks if the loads payed good and i didn't need to be home. With all the new rules comming out i just thought it easier to drive someone else's truck.
