A lot of us have tried the Centramatic stuff and I do think it helps, but I saw this stuff at a KW dealer in Mo. Tru Balance. Anyone tried it?

Is that a package of powdered tire balance? If it is I have used Equal before..works good...I have seen either opened packages and the contence dumped into the tire..and seen the whole package closed put into the tire..the only bad thing is if you dismount the tire you have to make sure the tire guy doesn't use a lot of water to dismount..as it will get the stuff wet..Equal has a little yellow tube to put on the valve to let the tire guy that equal is in the tire..and to reclaim it..you have to vacuum the equal up..but it can be reused..

Tru-Balance is an array of devices that you use to center the wheel assembly and brake drum assembly prior to tightening the Lugnuts. It is based on the presumption that the hub piloting isn't accurate enough. By using these devices they are centering the assemblies with the wheel studs. If you have any wear in the hub or center of the brake drum or wheels I could see the value, I just haven't had the time to disassemble any of my stuff to check if it looks like this is an issue or just good marketing. It would seem to me that if you had some wear from taking this stuff apart that it could be an issue, but where do you stop with this stuff? At the same time the things that we have put in place are paying off to a certain extent, but it tends to have, as always, a lot ot do with the driver. If the driver is putting the equipment in places where the wheels are full of crap the rest of this effort is for nothing.

From Angela Lang, Vice President TRU-BALANCE Wheel Centering Products
With hub piloted wheels, there is a tolerance built in between the center hole of the wheel and the pilots of the hub so that it can easily be mounted. The problem is that when mounted, the weight of the wheel rests on the top pilots creating a gap in the bottom pilots. A gap the size of a business card can create an egg-shaped motion upon rotation of the wheel. This uneven motion leads to tire vibration and irregular tire wear that balancing alone cannot correct. (you can't balance an egg) Our products bypass the hub pilots and center the wheel back to the wheel studs which is the truest center of the wheel. Once the wheel is properly centered you have a tire that is no longer out of round.
Because many people believe that the hub piloted wheel is self-centering they don't think the issue could be there so they have tire vibration and tire wear issues that they can never seem to fully correct. We've had a countless number of people call us out of sheer frustration because they have replaced tires and wheels and have had work done on their front end but they still have the same problem. Once they have centered the wheels up with our products they have said the problem is gone.
The product was just a fluke actually. A manager of a large fleet here in Colorado came to his friend that is a mechanical engineer and described the problem he was having with his fleet despite his best efforts to correct it. The engineer saw what the issue was and made up a set of centering pins for him to try. The product worked and worked well. That is how TRU-BALANCE came into existence. Since then we have created and patented many different products, many of them based on fleet and driver complaints that they can't seem to resolve.
We have centering pins (Solution A) that you use when you mount the wheel and then remove.
We also have centering sleeves for steer axles only (Solution B) which stay on the truck at all times and center the wheel as well as the brake drum. (Many reported they had problems with the universal brake drum clocking because of the extra slop in the hole so we created this sleeve)
We also have another sleeve (Solution C) that again stays on the wheel at all times and can be used on all axles of the truck. These only center the wheel. They do NOT center the brake drum.
We just recently came out with the C-5000 Series of sleeves which is a 2 piece system for dual wheels only. You can get these sleeves with or without brake drum centering.
A benefit to the sleeves is that they stay on the truck at all times so you are always centered regardless of what kind of roads you encounter. They also never wear out so unless you change wheels or brake drums they don't need to be replaced.
