BEST FUEL MILAGE COMBINATION?
I'm hoping that sombody out there can prove to me that they are getting better fuel mileage than me. I run a 2010 Volvo 64t 730 and pull a 2011 102" x 84" x 43' Timpte hopper. The truck has Volvo's D13 set at 435 hp. I cant remember what the torque is set at but most likely not very high and it has the I-shift backing it. I run typically 68 mph on the interstate. Last year I ran 137,493 miles and burned 22,863.62 gallons for a 6.01 mpg average. This truck was built in Feb of 09 so its pre urea. I have no complaints about the fuel mileage but the service after the sale is very poor in my area. Without a doubt I would buy another but its been a fight since day one to get volvo to pay for warranty repairs and a tow bills due to a clutch failure at 49,000 miles. The EGR cooler failed this summer and they covered that but when I got it back the exhaust system was leaking and getting into the cab so I hauled it back down to the dealer and they fixed it claiming that it happens quite often that they dont get it on the first try. Right away I noticed that I was still getting fumes in tha cab so I called them again letting them know I was not happy about all the time wasted but told them it will be back. I took it back down and they supposedly found the problem a $350 section of pipe that was out of warranty. I picked it up and guess what I'm still sucking on fumes. I'm hoping to find somthing better for my next truck but not sure what........
